Cookies are small text strings sent from the websites visited by users to their terminal (usually the browser), where they are saved before being transmitted back to the same websites when the same user visits those websites again. As users browse through a website, they can also receive on their terminals cookies that are sent from different websites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), where there may be elements (such as images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages of other domains) featured on the website the users are visiting.

Users' browsers usually contain a large number of cookies and sometimes they also have a very long expiry time. Cookies are used for different purposes: to perform computer authentication, monitor sessions, store information about specific configurations related to users who access the server, etc.

In this regard and for the purposes of this regulation, there are two types of cookies: “technical cookies” and “profiling cookies”.

Technical cookies

Technical cookies are only used for the purposes of “transmitting information via an electronic communication network or whenever strictly necessary for the service provider of an IT business that has been expressly requested to provide said service by the subscriber or the user”.

They are not used for other purposes and are usually installed directly by the party who owns or manages the website. They can be divided into: navigation or session cookies, which ensure you can browse through and use the website (for instance by letting you complete a purchase or log on to access reserved areas); analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies when they are used directly by the parties managing the website to collect aggregate information about the number of users and how they browse through the website itself;  functionality cookies, which let users browse through a website according to a series of selected criteria (for instance the language, products selected for purchase) to improve the service provided to the user.

Profiling cookies

Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles and are used to send adverts matching the preferences expressed by the user while browsing through the website. Given the intrusive nature that these devices may have in terms of privacy, according to European and Italian regulations users must be adequately informed about their use and express their consent.

Third-party profiling cookies

This kind of cookie integrates features developed by third parties on the pages of the website, such as icons and the preferences expressed on social networks (Facebook, Google+, etc.) to share content on the website or use third-party software services (such as software to generate maps and other software providing additional services). These cookies are sent by third-party domains and partner websites offering their features on the pages of the website.

This website uses technical and analytics cookies, as they are necessary to provide the services required.

The website may contain links to other websites with their own privacy policy, therefore Hotel Doriguzzi is not responsible for these websites.

For all the other kind of cookies, Users can express their consent in one or more of the following ways:
- with specific configurations of the browser used or the relative software employed to browse through the pages of the Website;
- by changing the settings relating to the use of third-party services.

Both solutions may prevent the user from using or viewing parts of the Website.

Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. The user can set the browser so that they are accepted, partly accepted or entirely disabled. All browsers have different procedures to manage their settings. Here below are the links to the main browsers with specific instructions.

Microsoft Explorer
Apple Safari
